The 2003 Wes Chandler Celebrity Golf Classic

Celebrities, sponsors, and guests of the 2003 Wes Chandler Celebrity Golf Classic gathered at The Westin Hotel on January 21, 2003 for a Celebrity Dinner Pairings Party and exclusive live and silent auctions. Among the auctioned items were limited edition fine art pieces, jewelry, and sports collectibles.

The following day, the Wes Chandler Celebrity Golf Classic Tournament was held at The Auld Course, one of the most exclusive courses in San Diego, CA. Benefiting the U.C.S.D Minority Student Fund and the San Diego Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation, the Golf Classic allowed players to team up with NFL Football players and other sports celebrities such as: Emmitt Smith, Hank Bauer, Kevin Hardy, Wally Joyner, Ken-Yon Rambo, Chris Claiborne, Antonio Bryant, Benji Gill, Junior Spivey, and many more.

That evening, participants attended a V.I.P. Celebrity Signing Party at On-Broadway Event Center in downtown San Diego. Aaron Hall, Jon B., and K-Ci & JoJo performed live.

To top it off, on Superbowl Sunday, celebrity athletes gathered with fans at the Sycuan Casino for a final signing party. Athlete autographs, poker, and a hometown Superbowl-who could ask for more?

The recipients of the 2003 San Diego Martin Luther King, Jr. Foundation Scholarship join members of the Foundation at the Awards Ceremony, held on June 4, 2003 at the Malcolm X Library and Performing Arts Center in San Diego. The scholarships, originally funded by the annual San Diego Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament, were funded in 2003 in collaboration with the Wes Chandler Celebrity Golf Classic.
